We’d like to introduce you to Curtis, of Curtis Pitts Deer Services, who supply all the wild venison used in our charcuterie.
Our partnership with Curtis and his team is great given we share a similar passion for provenance and high quality produce – qualities which are fundamental to both of our businesses.
Curtis started the business in 2016 and since then has grown from a small start-up to a thriving enterprise, offering all elements of deer management and leading the way in the production and supply of finest quality venison to local butcheries and restaurants across the South West.
“We’re passionate about supplying our venison locally as it enables us to deliver our locally sourced, traceable meat direct to our customer’s doors, whilst maintaining farmland and green spaces in the vicinity and connecting the land with the people around it. We take great pride in the way in which our deer are managed from the field to our customer’s fork.”
There’s no such thing as an average day for Curtis Pitts Deer Services! Wearing many a hat, Curtis takes his venture all over the country, visiting parkland and wild estates at dawn and dusk. When not out in the field, Curtis can be found at his premises in his state-of-the-art, purpose-built game larder, processing each venison carcass to meet the exact requirements of each and every customer. Curtis takes great pride in being one of very few purveyors in the UK who harvest and process all of their venison in-house, guaranteeing only the finest quality produce with distinguished provenance.

With deer populations across the UK already at a record high, the work undertaken by Curtis Pitts Deer Services is vital as, left unmanaged, deer populations will continue to rise causing detrimental effects on the UK’s landscape. Curtis explains, “we aim to source the finest quality venison we can supply, providing traceable, sustainable products with provenance, all whilst working hard to keep deer numbers at a sustainable level.”
When asked, obviously Curtis was a bit biased and said he loved our new Venison, Port & Mulberry Salami but he also admitted to being pretty partial to our Red Wine & Draycott Blue Salami (great choice).
